OK, so, well, I have decided it might be time for me to learn some hardcore programming, and that learning Java might be the best choice for me as a web developer.
So, I have begun setting up an environment dedicated to achieving this goal.
I am running Windows 2000 Server (SP4) over Parallels Desktop on my MacBook Pro running Tiger, and it is there that I will begin my adventure.
Why, you might ask, don't I simply run a Java web server on Tiger itself?
Well, very simply, I don't want to risk messing up my native system. Since I am pretty green when it comes to server setups to begin with, I would rather work in an environment that is easily backed up periodically, or trashed entirely if necessary.
